Sofirn

💡 MAIN FEATURES
The two things we wanted to test are durability and illumination. We submerged this flashlight in water and left for a couple of minutes to see if it would turn off. Well, it didn't, so it's safe to say that Sofirn is quite durable in this matter. You could rely on Sofirn in case of an emergency for sure. However, it's lighter than all the other flashlights we've tested. Hence, it's not as sturdy as you wish it would be. The brand doesn't specify from how high you could drop this flashlight, so we decided not to gamble with luck today, but the chances are that when it came to withstanding rough environmental conditions, Sofirn would not survive. Speaking of illumination, this flashlight can demonstrate an impressive brightness of 1500 lumens on turbo mode. On the same mode, the maximum beam distance is 1102 meters. If these numbers are accurate, then Sofirn looks really good against its competitors.

PORTABILITY & DESIGN
Although much larger than other flashlights on this list, Sofirn is much lighter than the rest of them. If you don’t intend to use a flashlight outdoors, then Sofirn would make an excellent stay-at-home flashlight. On the other hand, if you want to take it with you when leaving the house, it would become a total nuisance as Sofirn could barely fit into a purse, let alone a pocket. It doesn't have a carrying case either, so it's safe to say that Sofirn is not suitable for outdoor use. The box includes a little wrist strap, but it's unlikely to be convenient since the flashlight is so large. Speaking of charging, Sofirn is powered by two batteries that come with a charging station. It was a bit disappointing to discover that the batteries were not initially charged. All other flashlights included an already working battery, so we were able to test them straight away. For that hefty price, this brand could have done this bare minimum.

EASE OF USE
Sofirn is very uncomplicated to use. There is only one button to turn it on and off and another button for switching between modes. There are two operating modes that you can choose from, namely Tactical and Outdoor. The main difference between these two settings is that it starts with the brightest possible flash and dims as you switch between modes on Tactical mode. With Outdoor mode, the light goes in reverse order. We must say that it was fairly effortless to switch between the two, but it was not easy to find how to use SOS mode. Even though the user manual is relatively uncomplicated, there was still room for confusion.

VALUE
Generally speaking, Sofirn is not a bad flashlight, but it does have some severe flaws. For example, it would be of utmost inconvenience to take it on hikes. We feel like it's suited for indoor use only. There's also a bit of a hassle regarding batteries. And this flashlight was not even on the cheaper side! In fact, it was the second most expensive flashlight on this list, and we were bummed to discover that the price was way too high for an average flashlight like this. The company doesn't cover shipping costs as well, so the price increases even more.
