The brightest that Nitecore can be is 1200 lumens. It is bright enough to guide you through the darkness. However, 1200 lumens it can be quite average. If you take Klarus, our third choice, it has a brightness of 2000 lumens. Nonetheless, Nitceore was bright enough to heat the water during the water test. Speaking of the latter, this flashlight passed this test with flying colors. Essentially it means that you can rely on this flashlight no matter the circumstances, and there is very little chance that it will give up on you. The maximum beam distance is 202 meters which is a bit shorter when compared to other flashlights on this list, but it's still enough to help you see through the dark, so you can definitely count on Nitecore.
PORTABILITY & DESIGN
Nitecore may be too large to fit into a pocket, but it comes with a very cool carrying case that you can attach to your belt or pants for convenient carrying. We feel like this flashlight would make a perfect camping companion. No other flashlight had a case this cool, and it's super easy to get your flashlight whenever you need to. The box also includes a battery, a battery case (a nice touch from the brand), and a charging cable. The battery is brand new, so we could start testing Nitecore straight away, which is only a plus. Unfortunately, we couldn’t tell how long the battery will last, but since it’s a 5,000mAh battery, it’s safe to assume that it will serve you for a long time.
EASE OF USE
Nitecore has two operating modes: daily and tactical. It's super easy to find out how to switch between them and change between light modes. The user manual is short and straightforward as well, so there's nothing complicated about this flashlight. All you have to do is press both buttons simultaneously until a blue indicator light flashes on the Mode button. By doing this, you can change between daily and tactical settings. It's safe to say that Nitecore embodies everything a flashlight should be – easy to use, convenient to carry, and most importantly, bright.
VALUE
We must admit that this flashlight was on the pricier side, however, it entirely met our expectations. That's why we can say with a clear conscience that the price was nothing too crazy for a genuinely high-quality flashlight. Unfortunately, the shipping costs were not covered, and we had to pay them ourselves. But even with that, Nitecore is a fantastic flashlight that's definitely worth its price.
