Another great option for outdoor enthusiasts on a budget is Ledlenser H5R Core head torch. With a relatively powerful 500 lumen brightness, Ledlenser can illuminate distances up to 200 meters. That’s enough to provide extra safety when you’re exploring the great outdoors. Another nice feature is the cooling technology, which means that this Ledlenser head torch will not overheat and damage itself. It’s a quite useful addition especially when you’re using it for a longer time. Ledlenser H5R Core offers a single white light beam that you can dim if there is a need and a focus system that allows you to switch between flood and spot lighting.
DESIGN AND USE
Ledlenser’s H5R Core is a compact and lightweight head torch that features a comfortable and washable elastic headband. However, there is one substantial drawback that some people are not very fond of. This head torch does not have an internal battery. Instead, there is a power block which is attached to the back of the band and then connected to the main device with a wire. This makes the device slightly bulkier and possibly not as convenient to use. On the bright side, the external battery can be recharged via magnetic charge system, meaning you don’t need extra wires to charge the battery. A nice bonus is that Ledlenser is completely waterproof (IP67 rating) and the light can be tilted at a 160-degree angle to control the beam direction.
VALUE
All things considered, Ledlenser H5R has some noteworthy features, such as relatively high waterproof rating, decent brightness, and long beam distance. However, its limited light modes and wired design prevent it from being an absolute winner. Ledlenser does offer affordability and good quality but it could be a bit more versatile. It is a worthy option to consider but keep in mind the few minor issues that we have mentioned.
