Klarus

💡 MAIN FEATURES
If there is one thing we know for sure about this flashlight is that it's very powerful. Klarus aced the water test. After being submerged in water, not only did it remain turned on, but it also heated the water because of how bright it was. Klarus also has a beveled edge which looks super sturdy, so it seems that you could easily break glass with it. Additionally, this flashlight is exceptionally bright. Klarus has a brightness of 2000 lumens on turbo mode, which is relatively impressive for a flashlight of this size. While we couldn't check the actual beam distance, the user manual says that it's 316 meters on turbo mode. We must take their word for this matter because the brightness levels clearly match the ones written on the manual, so the beam distance couldn’t be that far off either.

PORTABILITY & DESIGN
This is a medium-sized flashlight. It maybe is a little too large to fit in a pocket comfortably, but you can attach it with a wrist strap. It isn't very heavy either, so it's safe to say that Klarus stands somewhere in the middle when speaking of size and weight. It could be a bit smaller to fit into a pocket, but it's a minor drawback when looking at a bigger picture. You'll find a nice case in the box, making it convenient to safely store it when you don't use it. You could even attach that case to your trousers, but it's a bit complicated. Inside the case, there is a wrist strap and a charging cable. We must note that Klarus comes with a fully charged battery, so you can use this flashlight right away. When you run out of battery, just connect the cable, and that's it. You really shouldn't have a problem charging it.

EASE OF USE
Klarus has three user settings, namely tactical, outdoor, and advanced tactical. While this is all great if you plan on using this flashlight in specific situations, it is a bit of a hassle trying to figure this flashlight out. You can press the mode switch button, and it will change the light intensity. However, this flashlight has much more to offer. If you want to get the most out of it, you must examine the user's manual, which is relatively complicated to understand. A couple of schemes show how you can change between modes, but it's way too difficult to grasp it quickly. We had to give Klarus bonus points for having a lot of user options and minus points for being a bit complicated to operate. A flashlight should be entirely effortless to use, and Klarus does not meet that definition exactly.

VALUE
Klarus is not precisely a pocket-friendly flashlight. However, some of the others were more expensive. In terms of price, Klarus stands somewhere in the middle. It's a great flashlight and if you are willing to spend some time looking at the user's manual – go for it. We had to pay for shipping, which is a bummer. On the bright side, the brand offers a 5-year warranty, so at least you could feel safer about your choice if you were to pick Klarus as your favorite.
