🚀 MAIN FEATURES

The third drone on this list is Altair’s model AA108. Only some of the features are slightly less cool than the QuadronX’s (like shorter battery life and a bit lower resolution camera) or Tello’s. And it’s a little pricier. Other than that, it comes with a set of amazing features. For instance, a wide-angle camera allows you to take 120°-wide footage. Probably the most remarkable thing about this drone is its safety features—Altair provides an out-of-range alarm, emergency land function, and low battery alarm, which keeps the drone and its pilot secure.

DESIGN AND PORTABILITY

Altair’s AA108 is small, lightweight, and durable. However, it doesn’t fold up and comes without a special case, so it isn’t as easy to take it on trips with you as, for example, QuadronX. But its sturdy body made from durable materials makes up for that—as you’re learning to control a drone, crashes are inevitable, so the strong build of the drone you’re trying to pilot is super important for a newbie. Yet, it's probably not advisable to put this drone in your backpack just like that, as the blades aren’t indestructible and might still bend or break.

EASE OF USE

This drone provides three flight skill levels that you can choose from: beginner, mid-level, and advanced. It is a perfect device for first-timers, as you can start from the easiest settings and work your way up. To make the learning experience even better, there is a one-button take-off/landing, and the headless mode makes it easier to control the drone regardless of which way it is facing. Even better, you can draw a custom flight route on your phone, and the drone will simply follow it!

VALUE

Despite having some disadvantages, Altair AA108 is a drone worthy of consideration. It isn’t overly expensive, and it offers some excellent features. It is a fantastic drone for people just starting to learn, as the super-easy controls won’t scare off the beginners. However, if you plan on taking your drone on trips, Altair is most likely not the best choice, so you should probably look at the foldable devices we have on our list.
